Mini Cooper JCW Audio Upgrade: Keeping OEM Style with Modern Connectivity

A recent project brought a Mini Cooper JCW to Team Impulse Watford as part of a full restoration by the team at Top Dead Center. The goal was simple: keep the factory look while giving the car a modern audio experience worthy of its performance.

Our technicians upgraded the original system with a ZZ2 Apple CarPlay interface, allowing the driver to access navigation, music, and calls directly from the Mini’s factory screen. This integration maintained the OEM appearance and controls while introducing full smartphone connectivity.

To enhance sound quality, we added a Hertz subwoofer that delivers tight, balanced bass without overpowering the cabin. The result is a clear and dynamic soundstage that complements the vehicle’s sporty character. Every component was fitted discreetly to preserve the Mini’s design while significantly improving audio depth and clarity.
